- Location data: We do not access or collect location information
- Contacts or photos: We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal files
How Transcribe Works
100% On-Device Processing
Transcribe uses Apple's built-in frameworks to process everything locally on your device:
- Recording: Uses iOS AVFoundation to capture audio directly on your device
- Transcription: Uses iOS Speech Recognition framework in on-device mode only
- AI Summarization: Uses iOS Foundation Models that run entirely on your device
- Storage: All data is stored in your device's local storage using iOS Core Data
None of these processes send data to external servers, cloud services, or third parties.
Data Storage
All data created by Transcribe is stored locally on your device:
- Voice recordings are saved in the App's sandboxed file system
- Transcriptions and summaries are stored in the App's local database
- Data is protected by iOS security features and device encryption
- Data remains on your device and is not synchronized to iCloud or any cloud service
- If you delete the App, all data is permanently removed from your device
No User Accounts
Transcribe does not require creating an account, logging in, or providing any personal information. You can start using the App immediately after installation.
Payment Processing
Transcribe offers the following subscription and purchase options:

Third-Party Services
Transcribe does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App uses only Apple's built-in iOS frameworks, which operate on-device:
- AVFoundation (audio recording)
- Speech Recognition (on-device speech-to-text)
- Foundation Models (on-device AI)
- StoreKit (App Store payments)
Permissions
Transcribe requests the following iOS permissions to function:
- Microphone Access: Required to record audio. Recordings are stored locally and never transmitted.
- Speech Recognition: Required to transcribe audio to text. Processing happens entirely on-device.
You can review and modify these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app under Transcribe.
Children's Privacy
Transcribe does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App can be safely used by users of all ages without privacy concerns.
Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- iOS sandboxing, which isolates the App's data from other apps
- Device-level encryption when your device is locked
- No network transmission, eliminating the risk of data interception
Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: All your recordings, transcriptions, and summaries are accessible within the App
- Delete: You can delete individual recordings or all data from within the App
- Export: You can share recordings and transcriptions using iOS share functionality
- Complete Removal: Deleting the App removes all associated data permanently
International Users
Since Transcribe does not transmit any data off your device, there are no international data transfers or cross-border privacy considerations. Your data stays on your device regardless of your location.
